Celebrate the Holidays with Sparkle and Style!

Opra shares her most favorite thisng 2013 list

It’s official…the anticipation of the upcoming Holiday Season has just hit me!

I’m not sure if it was because I recently read about Oprah Winfrey sharing her “Most Favorite Things!” 2013 list, or if it was making plans for Thanksgiving and a Friends-giving that has got me so excited, but I’ve just been inspired for this year’s festivities!

There are so many wonderful traditions that we all do to create magical and memorable experiences for the holidays. The moments that bring me the most joy are decorating the house, cooking yummy meals and treats to share, creating fabulous sparkling gifts for friends and family (plus fun sparkles for myself!) and making special memories with the ones I love.

I’m sure everyone enjoys all of these things and I know the most rewarding experiences are the times when you pour your heart into everything you do, whether it’s creating, cooking, beading, giving, or spending quality time with quality people.

Susan Hanover Earrings

There were three items on Oprah Winfrey’s “Most Favorite Things” 2013 list that caught my eye, and I thought to my self, I like that but what if I could add my own little special touch to it? They would be perfect little handmade gifts, with an added sparkly bonus, plus I could make one for my self (just for good measure).

These “Candy Crush” earrings resemble the Swarovski 6100 Taerdrop Pendants that can be made into stunning earrings for a fraction of the price.

Featuring Swarovski 6100 24mm or 34mm Teardrop Pendants created into earrings in Crystal Vitrail Light, Clear Crystal, Fire Opal, Ocean Blue, Terrenum, Crystal Bermuda Blue, Crystal Vitrail Medium and Crystal AB

Swarovski 6106 Pearshape Pendant Earrings

A similar design idea features the Swarovski style 4327 Pearshape Fancy Stones made into gorgeous earrings. You could also create a classic design using Swarovski 6106 Pearshape Pendants.

Opras Favorite Things 2013 Embellished Headbands

Another sparkling item that made Oprah Winfrey’s “Most Favorite Things” 2013 list were  these fun and glitzy headbands.

I love the idea, but they are a little pricey and you could make a few of your own custom headbands for as much as it would cost to buy just one of these. They make perfect little gifts or sparkling stocking stuffers too! Your design options are endless with Swarovski Beads, Pearls, Flatbacks, Sew-On-Stones or Buttons. Embellishing a one-of-a-kind accessory has never been easier or more fun! Here are lots of inspiring ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

One more item making the list that piqued my interest were these delightful personalized purse mirrors. They are colorful, handy and stylish, but could stand to have a little more sparkle on them, don’t you agree? Thankfully that’s a simple fix! All you need are Swarovski Flatbacks and a little E6000 Glue…and vuala! You have created a stunning, personalized compact that is functional and most of all stunning!

Fashion Trends and Color Inspirations for the New SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Fall and Winter 2014/15 Innovations! Featuring Progressive Nature’s Lab

Progressive Nature Lab Swarovski Fashion Trends

SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS NATURE LAB

The design world has its focus firmly on the future with the rapid ascension of 3D printing. “Indeed, the future will see us able to buy an item online and print it out at home. With digital files so easily manipulated, it will also enable companies to more quickly adapt their products as to what works, or let the user themselves experiment with the design to enable true personalization.” (Peter Weijmarshausen, CEO and cofounder of 3D printing marketplace and community Shapeways.) With the escalation of 3D printing capabilities, the architectural and sculptural will offer a different sense of luxury. In parallel with this, the designs of the future remain firmly committed to green issues. These concerns, coupled with the advance in technology, have created an entirely new design ethic, with structures mimicking nature enjoying a new-found success as wearable pieces of art. In what has been termed “Next Nature,” technology and nature will now coexist, with nature providing endless inspiration for technology. The meeting of these polar opposites – nature and science – is transforming not only urban spaces but also our wardrobes.

Fashion Trends and Color Inspirations for the New SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Fall and Winter 2014/15 Innovations! Featuring EXTRAVAGANT SIMPLICITY

Classic Extravagant Simplicity Swarovski Fashion and Color TrendsThe extravagant simplicity style focuses on a pared-back feel is prevalent as the design world becomes focused on what is being termed “Boredom Beauty.” This new design ethic sees basics reinvented with hidden detailing and purpose. Wardrobes concentrate on the achievable and wearable. Alongside this, a new male/female hybrid is introduced. Indeed, there is a strong, ongoing focus on the classic shapes of the past with a modern interpretation. Form follows function as in Bauhaus doctrine, and in this theme, cut and finishing touches are key: details are refined and elegant.

The Mood

Classic The Mood Swarovski Fashion and Color Trends

A firm focus on keeping it straightforward and simple coins the new design ethic of “no-fuss” fashion.

Crystal emerges in clean, geometric structures or as finishing touches to simplified designs.

Minimalistic jewelry styles – clean-cut stones and alternative materials – become the new expression of luxury.

Feminine lines meet masculine style in the new androgyny, where men wear typically “female” colors such as beige, pink, cream, and champagne.

Basics are reinvented to lay the foundation for a wardrobe that will bridge both fashion and time.

Reduced, well-chosen, and functional designs in New Segments take center stage.

PRODUCT INSPIRATION

Crystals in small sizes, placed with geometric precision, are used to form patterns or add interest.

Refined geometrics blend harmoniously with minimal designs.

The reinterpreted classic shapes of Fancy Stones and Pendants add a modern finish.

Subtle Sew-on Stones and Beads help to soften the severity of designs.

Streamlined cuts in classic shapes allow harsh purity to morph into modern luxury.
