Swarovski Color and Trend Inspirations Spring/Summer 2015 – Classic Theme

Swarovski_Jewelry_Trend_Inspirations_Spring_and_Summer_2015Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2015 Color and Trend Inspirations – ‘Traces of Time’

This season, Swarovski’s trend analysts have identified a radical change of mindset in relation to lifestyle choices. Referred to as ‘Traces of Time’, it relates to today’s changing perceptions of age, where the phenomenon of aging societies is having a huge impact on a global scale, leading to important changes in healthcare, retirement systems, and family structures.

Indeed, the generations are converging: the older groups are staying youthful and more carefree, while the young become less rebellious and more career-oriented. This new way of experiencing the impact of age on choices, lifestyles, and aesthetics is reflected in Swarovski’s new season’s crystal assortments. There are four key inspirational themes and corresponding innovation highlights for Spring/Summer 2015: Faded Memories (Classic), Sunset Rituals (Romantic), Vivid Moments (Progressive), and Forgotten Dreams (Glamour).

The trend and color inspirations below focus on the Classic – Faded Memories theme.

FADED MEMORIES

____________________

With the ongoing recession, the relentless drive of technology, and the overcrowding of our physical and mental space, we hold on to memories of better, more carefree times.

“Technology has complicated our lives. We hunger after the simplicity of the past, or the effortless days of our childhood. We need to adopt the simple notions of playfulness and individual expression if we are to avoid becoming bland and homogenized nations.”

This need to get away from it all is one of the reasons the trends for nostalgia and retro are still continuing so strongly.

Faded and washed with a Polaroid nostalgia, the theme updates almost kitsch references, making them more adult yet still playful and fun.

Inspired by architecture and structure, a new geometric language focuses on faceting and the magic of the cut. There is also a strong graphic direction toward vintage, weathered American billboards and road signs, reminding us of summers past.

THE MOOD

____________________

There is an increasing focus on tactility and texture in all design. Monochromatic opaque finishes incorporate in traditional shapes for jewelry. In fashion, crystals are used with graphic simplicity to create large bandings of patterns in different linear formats. The interplay of light through color achieves importance in all design segments.

Crystal is incorporated to bring a lighter, playful attitude to geometric designs.

Angular shapes are softened and modernized with different material combinations and graphic interplay.

Electronics imitate everyday objects where colors and shapes reflect optimism and humor.

Subtle, almost washed-out colors such as Vintage Rose, Violet Champagne, Silk, Crystal Antique Pink, Light Amethyst SatinLavender, Denim BlueCrystal Blue Shade, and Light Azore Satin to name a few in any of the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS help evoke summer nostalgia.

Tone-on-tone Flat Backs and Crystal Pave Balls in various shapes create stunning tactile textures.

Swarovski Opal hues such as Air Blue Opal, Caribbean Blue Opal, Chrysolite Opal, Pacific Opal, Rose Water Opal, Sand Opal, Violet Opal, Cyclamen Opal, and White Opal add an air of sophistication. Swarovski Buttons, Sew-on Stones, and simple motifs create a playful and unexpected design element and can be beautifully incorporated into jewelry designs as well as their traditional sew-on uses.

Fine sparkling crystals complement and balance precise linear design. The matt iridescence of Crystal Pearls, coupled with the radiant shine of sparkling crystal, creates a strongly modern effect.

SWAROVSKI COLOR COMBINATION INSPIRATION

______________________________________________

Inspiring crystal and color combinations from the Classic theme range from the romantic sparkle the clear Crystal embodies in company with similar hues expressed in the delicate hints of light bluish sparkle found in the Crystal Moonlight and moving into more of an intense interplay with light and colors of pinks, blues and yellows transmitted through Crystal AB. The Crystal Silver Shade is a soft and elegant grayish sparkly effect that blends nicely with the lighter crystal hues as well as the darker grey or black tones. The graceful neutral/taupe tones of Crystal Golden Shadow, is a gorgeous effect that can bring together warmer colors in the intermediate or brown tones. The Crystal Brandy is a rich gold and apricot sparkle effect that can be used as a nice transition into either a soft Jonquil yellow or the vibrant orange colors such as Fire Opal and Tangerine.

The White Opal is a beautiful milky white hue that serves as a wonderful transition into more expressions of color, such as this featured green, blue and purple color palate. The Palace Green Opal, Chrysolite Opal, and Pacific Opal, blend nicely into the new Crystal Iridescent Green, Light Azore, Air Blue Opal, Denim Blue, Crystal Blue Shade, Light Blue Crystal Pearl, Aquamarine, Indicolite, Blue Zircon and Light Turquoise. The Crystal Antique Pink is a soft and feminine effect that can be incorporated into other pinkish hues such as Light Rose, Rose, Rose Water Opal, Powdered Rose Pearl, Mauve Pearl, Light Amethyst and Crystal Lilac Shadow.

Celebrate the Holidays with Sparkle and Style!

Opra shares her most favorite thisng 2013 list

It’s official…the anticipation of the upcoming Holiday Season has just hit me!

I’m not sure if it was because I recently read about Oprah Winfrey sharing her “Most Favorite Things!” 2013 list, or if it was making plans for Thanksgiving and a Friends-giving that has got me so excited, but I’ve just been inspired for this year’s festivities!

There are so many wonderful traditions that we all do to create magical and memorable experiences for the holidays. The moments that bring me the most joy are decorating the house, cooking yummy meals and treats to share, creating fabulous sparkling gifts for friends and family (plus fun sparkles for myself!) and making special memories with the ones I love.

I’m sure everyone enjoys all of these things and I know the most rewarding experiences are the times when you pour your heart into everything you do, whether it’s creating, cooking, beading, giving, or spending quality time with quality people.

Susan Hanover Earrings

There were three items on Oprah Winfrey’s “Most Favorite Things” 2013 list that caught my eye, and I thought to my self, I like that but what if I could add my own little special touch to it? They would be perfect little handmade gifts, with an added sparkly bonus, plus I could make one for my self (just for good measure).

These “Candy Crush” earrings resemble the Swarovski 6100 Taerdrop Pendants that can be made into stunning earrings for a fraction of the price.

Swarovski 6106 Pearshape Pendant Earrings

A similar design idea features the Swarovski style 4327 Pearshape Fancy Stones made into gorgeous earrings. You could also create a classic design using Swarovski 6106 Pearshape Pendants.

Opras Favorite Things 2013 Embellished Headbands

Another sparkling item that made Oprah Winfrey’s “Most Favorite Things” 2013 list were  these fun and glitzy headbands.

I love the idea, but they are a little pricey and you could make a few of your own custom headbands for as much as it would cost to buy just one of these. They make perfect little gifts or sparkling stocking stuffers too! Your design options are endless with Swarovski Beads, Pearls, Flatbacks, Sew-On-Stones or Buttons. Embellishing a one-of-a-kind accessory has never been easier or more fun! Here are lots of inspiring ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Oprah’s Favorite Things 2013 List Featuring Purse Mirrors

One more item making the list that piqued my interest were these delightful personalized purse mirrors. They are colorful, handy and stylish, but could stand to have a little more sparkle on them, don’t you agree? Thankfully that’s a simple fix! All you need are Swarovski Flatbacks and a little E6000 Glue…and vuala! You have created a stunning, personalized compact that is functional and most of all stunning!
