Spring/Summer Swarovski Color, Jewelry Trends & Style Inspiration ~ Focusing on the CLASSIC Trend: AIR

New Swarovski Crystal Spring Summer 2017 Innovations sneak peek

Swarovski New Spring/Summer 2017 Trends and Innovations:

THE BALANCE OF NATURE

Over the past 15 years technology and science have become a huge influence in our lives, from the way we meet, interact, live and even age. The constant influx of new technology has steadily become overwhelming, which has created a strong desire to step back and pause for thought.

In our technology-driven world, people are beginning to seek meaningfulness, fulfillment, and satisfaction in their daily lives. Wellbeing has become a global mantra.

Mindfulness, quietness and wellness is becoming increasingly important and will become even more prevalent as we move into the future.

All of this has an impact on us personally, culturally and globally on many levels including our desires within the fashion and design world as a whole.

During this process, we examine how we can reconnect with our inner selves by focusing on the eternal elements: Air, Earth, Water, and Fire – the basis of everything we need to exist.

Today I am focusing on color, style and  jewelry trends within the

CLASSIC Trend: AIR

Segment: Jewelry

A calm, luminescent palette of sophisticated neutrals, ranging from white to nude, pearl to soft grey, creates an element of solitude and an oasis of peace with the addition of barely-there lilac.

Swarovski Colors highlighted within this picture include:

Violet, Greige, Silk, Light Grey Opal, White Opal and Crystal.

Spring and Summer Jewelry Design Inspiration

Silver metal and ultra-light elements alternate with crystal embellished details to create a calm, light look.

Large, single stone crystal jewelry, which is being referred to as a centering stone, combined with small stones, will become more popular. This style evokes a feeling of balance and purity.

Full body jewelry is on the rise as well as large crystals seeming to be suspended effortlessly in gravity-defying structures. Repeating double-sided elements express a meditative character, reflecting continuity and contemplation.

Spring and Summer Fashion Inspiration:

A Return to Mother Nature is the overall theme, including lots of layering, organic textures and tone-on-tone color combinations.

In the quest for a greater emotional connection, touch and texture add a sensory experience to materials. Swarovski Crystal components in geometric patterns are integrated into sharp tailored designs to create a sense of stillness.

“There is a desire to redesign the basics by giving them an emotional dimention, with an extra dose of soul to make them unique.” (Peclers, SS17).

Streamlined layering, with varying thicknesses of materials overlapping to form a single garment will be a trend. “Experiments with materials in monochrome and geometric shapes add texture and replace prints.” (Peclers, SS17).

The New Swarovski Crystal Pearlescent White Pearl evokes a sense of purity and calmness while adding a contemporary twist of a delicate sparkle that the regular White Pearl does not have.

With its white, irridescent, frosted mother-of-pearl look, it brings a modern update to a genuine classic. It demonstrates both a matte and a shinny look at the same time, that complements the ever popular Crystal AB perfectly.

Guess Who’s Going To The Bead & Button Show This Year…A Special Sneak Peek Of The Sparkling Display!

Sneak Peak to trade show display from Rainbows of Light

(Picture of the Day from The Telegraph)

I have some FUN news to share with everyone! I will be selling all your favorite Swarovski Crystals at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee  this year!! Yay!

Bead and Button Show 2015

Free admission to the show this year starting Friday June 5th  through Sunday the 7th! Print out your free voucher now! I will be at booth #432 Please come by and say Hi, I can’t wait to see everyone!

I have been a very busy little bee lately preparing for this endeavor. It is my very first trade show and I am super excited!

I am a crafty lady and love DIY projects, so I am making as much of the display as I can myself. Here is a sneak peek of my painting and crystallizing projects for my dazzling booth!

Lavendar frames and crystals for tradeshow

My color palette is a variety of lavender/purple hues, silver and cream. Here is a picture frame that I found at the goodwill and painted it with darker and lighter lavender tones and added Swarovski 2088-16ss and 20ss AmethystLight Amethyst and Crystal Flatbacks to the frame. I love how it turned out (the picture doesn’t do it justice). It has an elegant, fun and whimsical feel that I just love!

DIY Lavendar frame and crystal embellished box from Rainbows of Light

I found this frame and little jewelry box at Michael’s. They were both a light unfinished wood color, which I painted and embellished with Swarovski Flatbacks using E6000 to add a touch of feminine sparkle.

DIY painting frames for tradeshow from Rainbows of Light

Here are what the frames used to look like. I scored at the goodwill finding frames from $0.99 to $4.99. All it takes is a little time and energy to paint and crystallize them, but well worth the effort. If I were to buy frames that were already beautified, it would have cost around $30-$50 each. That’s way I love DIY projects so much! It’s fun to be hands-on and creative while saving big bucks, plus you feel so much more accomplished – it’s a win-win!

DIY painting frames and adding Swarovski Crystals

More great frame finds at the goodwill…let the transformation begin!

Crystallizing in the works…It’s such a joy to see my dream coming true!

Tiered Kashi helping paws

I had to sneak in a little picture of Kashi, the best & sweetest little helper around…she’s already tuckered out with how much work we’ve been doing 😉

I’m really enjoying this process. It’s extremely rewarding and I’m looking forward to bringing all of these beautiful elements together. I will keep you updated as to how the display is coming together…but even better I would LOVE to meet you in person at the show!

Definitely this is what I am looking forward to the most, is meeting all of our wonderful customers in person! Please, please, please, stop by and say Hi, I will be at booth #432…look for all the sparkles at Rainbows of Light!!

SUNSET RITUALS

This theme is based on the ancient tribal whisperings and sage teachings of our earliest ancestors, guiding us toward the things that really matter – food, shelter, and water.

A spirit of sustainable self-reliance makes creative use of everything found along life’s path to shape a personal vision.

For designers, fashionistas there remains a continuing strong demand for and emphasis on stories for their products. We currently desire a digital detox, encapsulated in the rise of the notion of becoming “unplugged” and the trend toward “mindfulness.”

A focus on nature’s immense power is echoed increasingly in design forms, structures, and materials.

Swarovski_Spring_Summer_2015_Trends_Romantic_The_Mood

THE MOOD

________________

Romantic jewelry is inspired by the lifestyle and beliefs of the desert tribes, concentrating more on the emotional value (e.g. talismans) than the technical execution.

Raw materials found in nature are used with shapes and surfaces, often left untouched, in irregular and rough forms with a strong focus on Crystal Pearls.

There is a reduction in fashion with the use of multifunctional pieces: a single piece of cloth doubles as a shawl, sarong, or a turban – offering shade, protection, or warmth – for a life on the move.

The rise of the tribe gains more prominence as people continue wishing to belong. As high-tech individuals we feel disconnected from Mother Nature; natural and primal designs help us reconnect with the earth.

The classic diamond shape of this Mini Rhombus shape is a beautiful and delicate new addition to the mini bead assortment. This is a timeless style that offers a sophisticated quality with brilliant multi-layered facets that adds remarkable versatility to designs.

Offered with the same sophisticated, brilliantly multi-layered cut, and in the same 6 mm and 8 mm sizes as the popular Round, Oval, and Square minis, it also comes in 11 effects and 8 colors. Its small size makes it the perfect choice for layering into delicate and intricate looks, or it can be used to offset bigger stones. This versatility extends to both masculine and feminine designs, and it looks great when used to add a striking sheen to graphic patterns.

How to use: Beading, stringing, wiring, sewing, weaving – everything is possible with the Mini Rhombus Bead. Combine with the existing mini bead portfolio (its hole length matches the Swarovski 5052 Mini Round Beads and the Swarovski 5053 Mini Square Beads) to create opulent designs using many beads, or subtle highlights using a select few.

New Swarovski 6022 XIRIUS Raindrop Pendants

This brand new design from Swarovski is a modern interpretation of a classic cut displaying dramatic and spectacular chaton-cut faceting structure fashioned into a drop pendant that is perfect for both elegant and futuristic designs.  For the first time its colorful effect is applied from the top, rather than the side, to achieve a homogenous look. When seen from the side it has a classic appearance, but when viewed from below, the masterpiece of a dazzling kaleidoscopic effect is revealed.

Its conical shape adds sculptural volume, which meets the current demand for architectural pieces and progressive 3D design. It is particularly effective when used to create stand-out statement pieces, and when combined with smaller sizes its water-inspired droplet shape has an exciting nature-tech appearance. This exceptional style can be utilized in necklaces, earrings and eye-catching charm bracelets that are available in a 14 mm, 24 mm, 32 mm and a 33 mm.

The kaleidoscopic complexity of the XIRIUS cut finds its match only in nature’s miracles: captured in the new XIRIUS Raindrop Pendant is the beauty and wonder of a fresh summer shower. The drop motif is the perfect embodiment of Swarovski’s most brilliant crystal. Look at it from the sidea classic. Look at it from belowa phenomenon!
