DIY Instructions on Applying Swarovski Crystals to Sports Pants

Take a pair of sport pants and give them a dash of attitude with Swarovski crystals in new Graphite and Yellow Opal, then sparkle while you sweat!

The sports fashion trend has exploded in popularity in the last few years and it continues to have a huge influence  in the fashion industry, with many feeling like it is here to stay for a very long time.

The popular buzzword “athleisure” perfectly describes this sports fashion movement, where more people are craving healthier lifestyles and incorporating a more functional style into their wardrobes. People are wanting an everyday type of comfort that is also stylish and fashionable. It’s the idea that sportswear should be a chic s everything else in your closet.

Adding a touch of Swarovski Crystal sparkle to your sports wardrobe is easy and it’s always much more fun to work out looking and feeling your very best!

Supplies and Tools:

Supplies: Pants

Tools:  Iron, Pins, Quad paper, Scissors, Transfer film, Transfer sheet and Tweezers

DIY Design Project Applying Swarovski Crystals to pants

STEP 1: Place a transfer sheet over the quad paper and start placing the Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix art. 2078 SS20 Yellow Opal into the squares on the quad paper leaving two squares empty in-between each Swarovski Crystal as shown. Place a transfer film on top of the Swarovski Crystal row and pull it back to get all the Swarovski Crystals onto it. Mark the area on the pants where you want to place the crystals with pins. Place the transfer film with Swarovski Crystals onto the pinned area as shown.

STEP 2: Iron the transfer film with Swarovski Crystals onto the pants and then pull the transfer film back slowly, making sure all the Swarovski Crystals are in place. (If some do not stick to the pants, re-iron until they do.) Repeat these two steps for other Swarovski Crystal stripes.

I decided that if I’m going to have to wear a helmet, it might as well be a fashion statement just as much as a safety measure!

Swarovski Crystal Flatbacks are so fun and versatile, with endless shapes and colors to choose from, all your designs will be unique and fabulous!

 I found a few super large Flatback Stones and combined them with medium and smaller rhinestones to create my design. The first two large Crystals are the 2035 -40mm and 30mm Chessboard Flatbacks. Their faceting structure is just as it describes and produces and amazing array of sparkles. I added two 20mm Chessboard Flatbacks to the sides as well as the 2520 Cosmic Flatbacks at an angle and filled in with a few 2088-20ss Round Xilion  Flatbacks and 2711 Triangle Flatbacks (which are the Hot Fix kind, meaning they have the glue pre-applied to the back, but I just used the E6000 glue instead and it worked great. You can find E6000 glue at most hardware or craft stores).

I also used a piece of the Swarovski Crystal Rocks in the shape of a heart and glued this like normal. The Crystal Rocks product is an amazing creation that takes halved Bicone Beads clustered together on one giant piece where you can cut shapes out of and glue them on to pretty much any surface. You can glue it into jewelry molds and it’s great for embellishing costumes, dresses or any type of fabric for fashion or home decor. It’s as versatile as your imagination. I also used the Swarovski Crystal 2808 Heartshaped Flatback, the 2753 Edelweiss Flatback, the 2708 Molecule Flatback, and the 2072 Dome Flatback.

If you, your children, friends or family who don’t like wearing helmets, well here’s the best way to making wearing them extremely fun! I can’t wait to wear my new blinged out helmet on my next snowboarding trip!

I’ll be honest, I fell hard for this one! I saw it. I loved it. I want to make it!

Really and truly I LOVE this cute idea! There is certainly a little more love in the air with Valentine’s Day right around the corner and now there can be some extra love…well…on your elbos 🙂

Below are the pictures and step-by-step instructions, but keep in mind, you can also use Swarovski Crystal Flatbacks to embellish these hearts with sparkles. You can either iron them on or use the Bejeweler  Hot Fix Tool using the 2078 Round Flatbacks with Hot Fix, or apply E6000 glue to adhere the 2058 Rhinestones with help from this time-saving, handy-dandy Krystal Katana tool.

Either way, you’ll shine this Valentine’s Day with sparkle & spirit!

Tools and Supplies

Supplies: Alcantara, 10x20cm red, Fusible interlining 10×20 cm, Nylon thread, transparent and 1x Sweater.

Tools: Darning needle, Felt pen, Iron, Scissors, Sewing needle and a Sheet of paper.

DIY Swarovski Crystal Design Idea Sewing Crystals onto Sweater Sparkling Love Patches Instructions

STEP 1: Print and cut out the pattern for the patch and punch holes into the marked spots using a darning needle as shown in the illustrations along with this step.

STEP 2: Place the pattern over the red Alcantara fabric and cut out the heart shape and mark through the holes with the felt pen. Place the prepared red Alcantara heart over the fusible interlining and cut out the shape. Repeat this step for the other heart pattern with a different dot layout.

STEP 3: Place both the heart shaped fusible interlining and Alcantara hearts over the arms of the sweater (one on top of the other) and iron them.

STEP 4: Cut 1m nylon thread and sew the Swarovski Sew-on Stones art. 3188 5mm Crystal Paradise Shine F into the marked places on the Alcantara fabric using three stitches as depicted in the illustrations with this step. Repeat this step to cover all the marked dots on both patterns on each of the arms.

Step-by-Step Instructions

STEP 1: Print and cut out the text pattern shown in the illustration.

STEP 2: Create a “dialog box” of similar sizing as the pattern or simply print it out to correct size and stick the text pattern created in the previous step on it. Place the pattern onto a fabric piece and cut out the shape. Repeat this step with the fusible interlining piece.

STEP 3: Place the interlining in between the T-shirt and the fabric and iron to secure.

STEP 4: Place the transfer sheet over the pattern. Place the Swarovski Flat Backs No Hotfix over the pattern exactly over the text using tweezers.

STEP 5: Place the transfer film over the text and pull the transfer film back to get all the crystals on to it as shown in our illustrations with this step.

STEP 6: Stick the transfer film onto the T-shirt and iron it with hot iron so the hotfix glue on the back of the stones adheres to the fabric. Press the iron firmly down on top of the transfer for about 30 seconds.

STEP 7: Let the transfer cool and then remove the film slowly. If some of the stones do not stick to the fabric repeat this step until all the stones are securely affixed to the fabric.

What to be, what to be for Halloween this year?? I didn’t plan my costume out in advance this year, so on the day of I found myself rummaging through our costume/party box full of fun wigs, funky sunglasses & all kinds of comical pieces, one of my favorites being a bright pink cowboy hat. I had just worn the pink cowboy hat, so alas I was uninspired.

Just then a light bulb went off in my mind!

Ah ha! CRYSTALS! I looooove crystals & have them everywhere, so why don’t I embellish my face!

It was so fun, really easy and I always love getting creative!

If I had more time, I would have added a lot more. Who knows maybe next year I’ll be a crystal princess and go all out!

I couldn’t find body glue anywhere, so I used eyelash glue and it worked really well. Just a little dab will do ya. I put a tiny dab of glue on my face and used the Crystal Katana to pick up the crystals and apply them to the glue. I pressed down for a few seconds and then it was on to the next. It was that simple!

I applied different colors and sizes of the Swarovski Crystal 2088 Flatbacks to the areas that I wanted sparkle.

I also used a couple pieces of the Swarovski Crystal Flatbacks 2520-10x8mm Cosmic Style as well as the 2808-6mm Heart Flatback Rhinestone (super cute heart, one of my faves!)

Swarovski Crystal Sew on Stones 3223 Nevette stones from Rainbows of Light

I found some of these cute Swarovski Crystal 3223-12mm Nevette Sew On Stones and threw a few of these on. They have a flat back which worked well and I just love this shape. I wanted to add different shapes and colors to make it as unique as possible.

For some dramatic accents I applied the Swarovski Crystal 2494-10mm Starlet Flatbacks as well as the 2540-7mm Curvey Flatback in the beautiful coating of Crystal Paradise Shine.

Last but certainly not least, I used the 2709-13mm Rhombus Swarovski Crystal Flatback for the center.
