Judith Glassman Jewelry Designs is owned and operated by Judith Glassman, who is a wonderfully sweet and dynamic woman! She has been creating beautifully unique necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and custom designs since the 1960’s. It was love at first creation for her and she has continued to expanded her repertoire over the years, incorporating Swarovski Crystals, semi-precious stones, Lucite, vintage glass and buttons into her one-of-a-kind jewelry designs.
Among Judith’s talents, she has written many books that crafters and jewelry makers have found to be very insightful. She was receiving so many questions about where she found her supplies, that it inspired her to write her first book entitled New York Guide to Craft Supplies, for Workman Publishing, followed by the New New York Guide to Craft Supplies. Then publishers were asking her to create crafts books, which lead to The National Guide to Craft Supplies, Step by Step Beadcraft, and The Sweater Book. She also found time to write craft articles for The New York Times and New York magazine, as well as designing sweaters for the Good Housekeeping Needlecraft Institute.
She went on to write non-fiction books and articles on many subjects ranging from music, cancer survivors, and computer technology. The need to create jewelry exploded again in 2001. One winter morning a cold necklace led her to add fiber as a jewelry material. For years she sold to private customers and as fate would have it, jewelry became a true business in 2015, when she made the leap to create her own website. Below are just a few representation of her jewelry, but please visit her website to see all of her designs, and hes’s always more than happy to create a custom design just for you!
Gorgeous Necklaces Seek Lovely Necks
“Which piece of clothing do you choose first when you get dressed? I choose a necklace. It’s Act I, Scene I in the Judith Theater. It’s the dramatic moment when the star sweeps on the stage, the focus of attention. The necklace sets the mood, the emotional tone. Then I choose my clothes.”
The gorgeous purple and pink hues of the Swarovski effect called Crystal Lilac Shadow, infuse a dynamic color palette to this elegant necklace design that is further entranced by the lighter and darker shades of Crystal Silver Night.
“Emotionally complex. The muted lilac is as soft as a velvet glove, controlling the hard-edge glitter of the Crystal Silver Night. Breathtaking.”
Jean-Paul Gaultier Spike
Spike beads and jewelry have become very popular over the years, and this exclusive necklace design expresses more of a fancy edgy style, while still being very graceful and refined.
“Designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for Swarovski, the Spike and Double Spike are edgy and forceful. Wear this necklace when you’re facing disagreement from powerful opponents. Its angles intensify your tenacity and unwavering determination. It inspires you with persuasive win-win concepts. Go for it!“
“Earrings are the jewelry pieces most intimate with your face. They light up your eyes and your skin with their sparkle. You choose their length and shape to complement the shape of your face. If your dress or blouse or sweater are full of color and pattern you may decide not to wear a necklace and put on a pair of glamorous earrings instead.“
Hoop Earrings are always a stylish look and these beaded Swarovski Crystal hoops will add a splash of glam to your attire. The Rose Gold plating is especially on trend, and its soft metallic hues compliment all types of skin tones, and can be worn during every season.
“If you like hoop earrings, give this variation a try. These hoops are written in the soft glitter of rose gold; your ears and eyes will thank you.”
Swarovski on Chain in Blue
These dainty, elegant pair of Swarovski Crystal earrings highlight the multifaceted Rondelle bead that captures and reflects the light exquisitely. The popular Aquamarine color is a glorious pastel azure-like hue that is quite eye-catching. This three tiered crystal and chain style is beautiful as well as multi functional, looking lovely for special occasions or every-day wear.
“The only reaction possible to these magically blue earrings is love at first sight. Bestsellers.”
What’s the Best Thing About Bracelets?
“Simple. Like rings, you can see them. You’re eating or texting or walking or driving. Your bracelet catches your eye. You love it and it makes you smile.“
A Garden on Your Wrist
This bracelet just makes me happy! The wonderful interplay of multiple colors, intricate patterns and a chunky, yet whimsical style, makes me think of a field of flowers on a bright and sunny day. I just want to wrap by wrist around it and become lost in a daydream!
“Top quality cloisonne, fine detail, vivid colors. There are only a few of these left. I haven’t found any cloisonne beads that I like as much but stay tuned. I keep looking and have confidence. Hmmm…maybe some delicate filigree with dazzling crystal.”
Victorian with Muscle
This alluring bracelet design blends both delicate natural crystals seamlessly with larger asymmetrical stones, for a truly unique expression of beauty.
“Most of the ingredients in this bracelet are well-mannered, discreet, old-fashioned. Then there are those kunzite nuggets. Delicate pale pink, to be sure. Irresistibly iridescent. But bigger, irregular shapes. Internal sheets at different depths shimmer when you move your wrist. Powerful. Clearly the leaders of the pack.“
If you see something you like or if one of the pieces gives you an idea for something a little different, a little special, a little “you” – please drop Judith a line and she is happy to make your design come true!
