“It all began with something perfect…

When Jean Paul Gaultier, haute couture rebel and modern design legend, visited Swarovski headquarters in 2013, he was struck by the perfection of Swarovski crystal. Inspired to create a crystal design of his own, he felt that there was no way to make something perfect more perfect.

There was only a way to make it new. And that was adding a touch of imperfection…

In the end, the result was “Perfectly Imperfect

Kaputt Product Family, a stroke of genius: Cut, Color, Facets, and even small details were defined, shaped, and approved by Jean Paul Gaultier himself. Aptly named “Kaputt” (the German word for “broken”) this exciting new collection consists of two Pendants and three Fancy Stones in rich, shimmering metallic colors that riff on irregular forms, break with conventions and celebrate the appeal of being different and unpredictable.

Swarovski Crystal Light Chrome New Effect

New Swarovski Effect Crystal Light Chrome

Crystal Light Chrome is a highly sophisticated interpretation of the color silver.

Crystal Light Chrome is slightly darker than the famous CAL and does not have a mirror effect. Instead, it embodies fluidity, emotion and mystery for a soothing and purifying impact. This is a perfect Fall and Winter shade to express the season’s cooler attributes and will make dramatic statement jewelry for special occasions as well as everyday ware by opening up countless glamorous design possibilities in male, female and unisex designs.

New Swarovski Effect Crystal Light Chrome 2X

Crystal Light Chrome’s cold silver shimmer emphasizes the renewed focus on opulence with a modern mindset. In color theory, silver is associated with energy, prosperity and modernity. As such, this is a timeless, unisex element for all looks, but the metallic hue of the Crystal Light Chrome particularly encapsulates robotic/sci-fi design elements that are currently on the rise.

Jewelry Designs That Will Enthuse Even the Most Uninspired!

Swarovski SALT Magazine

Yesterday I was reading the Swarovski SALT Magazine for a little inspiration (which by the way – is absolutely fabulous!) and I came across an article highlighting the fashion/design school called the Central Saint Martins college of art which is in London. Swarovski  sponsors and collaborates with these students by donating gorgeous crystals to draw inspiration from and to be used in designs and contests. I wanted to point this out because I was especially inspired by what the school tries to instill in their students. A few highlighted themes include:

Free thought, independence of spirit, and a rebellious nature. These are just some of the qualities nurtured by this exceptional school whose graduates have gone on to be world leaders in fashion.

Swarovski Salt Magazine Highlights

(Swarovski Salt Magazine “Let The Light In” page 69)

As jewelry designers, artists and creative people, I’m sure you’re always striving to design fresh and new ideas to your line. Expanding your horizons, evolving, and relentlessly pursuing your passion. Those are some of the reasons why being creative is so darn fun!

Here are a few  examples of jewelry designs that push the limits and dare to be different. I hope they arouse your creativity to new heights and ever new possibilities!

(Jewelry Designs by Eric Daman for Atelier Swarovski Native Modern)

I find that these jewelry designs have somewhat of a chaotic nature. They combine many different elements together such as the Swarovski Mosaic stones, different shaped cup-chains, along with unique styles of beads, pendants and colors. Yet with all of this going on, if you look closely you’ll find that they are balanced out by a repetitive pattern. This duality is balanced very well and is a way in which you can expresses a real sense of creative wildness, while still maintaining its integrity and orderliness which so many people are naturally drawn to.

crystal jewelry inspiration bib necklace

(Design by Renata Sanchez Ramos)

This unique bib necklace is a outstanding example of weaving mixed medias in and out to create one dynamically dramatic design. Integrating different textures such as Swarovski Pearls, Swarovski Crystals, Epoxy Clay (or Ceralun), ribbon and elastic mesh in complimentary colors creating an overall irresistibly enticing design.

 Crystal bracelet

(Bracelet Design by AliExpress)

This colorful crystal and braided leather bracelet features many different styles of crystals in metal settings which allow the crystals themselves to be showcased. I’m especially drawn to the overlapping look, it gives it a lively and energetic type of movement to the piece that is then grounded by the leather background. It’s a bohemian chic style that is both whimsical and substantial at the same time.

Guess Who’s Going To The Bead & Button Show This Year…A Special Sneak Peek Of The Sparkling Display!

Sneak Peak to trade show display from Rainbows of Light

(Picture of the Day from The Telegraph)

I have some FUN news to share with everyone! I will be selling all your favorite Swarovski Crystals at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee  this year!! Yay!

Bead and Button Show 2015

Free admission to the show this year starting Friday June 5th  through Sunday the 7th! Print out your free voucher now! I will be at booth #432 Please come by and say Hi, I can’t wait to see everyone!

I have been a very busy little bee lately preparing for this endeavor. It is my very first trade show and I am super excited!

I am a crafty lady and love DIY projects, so I am making as much of the display as I can myself. Here is a sneak peek of my painting and crystallizing projects for my dazzling booth!

Lavendar frames and crystals for tradeshow

My color palette is a variety of lavender/purple hues, silver and cream. Here is a picture frame that I found at the goodwill and painted it with darker and lighter lavender tones and added Swarovski 2088-16ss and 20ss AmethystLight Amethyst and Crystal Flatbacks to the frame. I love how it turned out (the picture doesn’t do it justice). It has an elegant, fun and whimsical feel that I just love!

DIY Lavendar frame and crystal embellished box from Rainbows of Light

I found this frame and little jewelry box at Michael’s. They were both a light unfinished wood color, which I painted and embellished with Swarovski Flatbacks using E6000 to add a touch of feminine sparkle.

Here are what the frames used to look like. I scored at the goodwill finding frames from $0.99 to $4.99. All it takes is a little time and energy to paint and crystallize them, but well worth the effort. If I were to buy frames that were already beautified, it would have cost around $30-$50 each. That’s way I love DIY projects so much! It’s fun to be hands-on and creative while saving big bucks, plus you feel so much more accomplished – it’s a win-win!

More great frame finds at the goodwill…let the transformation begin!

Crystallizing in the works…It’s such a joy to see my dream coming true!

I had to sneak in a little picture of Kashi, the best & sweetest little helper around…she’s already tuckered out with how much work we’ve been doing 😉

I’m really enjoying this process. It’s extremely rewarding and I’m looking forward to bringing all of these beautiful elements together. I will keep you updated as to how the display is coming together…but even better I would LOVE to meet you in person at the show!

Definitely this is what I am looking forward to the most, is meeting all of our wonderful customers in person! Please, please, please, stop by and say Hi, I will be at booth #432…look for all the sparkles at Rainbows of Light!!

Outshine Your Competition When Giving or Marketing Jewelry With This Essential Secret

(Swarovski Baroque Bermuda Blue Jewelry Set by MartakyArt on ArtFire)

Let’s face it, the incomparable brilliance and majestic beauty of Swarovski Crystals speak for themselves. Any jewelry designer and admirer can distinguish the unsurpassed superiority that Swarovski has been known for in their 120 years of experience.

People who use Swarovski Crystals in their designs, understand the value of a quality product, so as gift givers and business owners, if you are going the extra mile to create gorgeous jewelry that will be worn and loved for years to come…shouldn’t the gift box reflect that same exceptional beauty?

I emphatically say, YES it should! You should too and here’s why….

Wrapped box

Normally we give gifts in a wrapped box with a bow on top. There’s nothing wrong with this, it’s a perfectly nice way to give a gift.

But if you want to outshine your competition, or want to really make a lasting impression that has an extra special touch of glamour, the box in and of itself becomes a piece of artwork. It shows that you have spent time and effort creating an exceptional piece of jewelry and the presentation is equally stunning!

Here are some beautiful ideas to inspire your creativity.

Sea Shell presentation for Pearl Necklace

(Sea Shell Presentation for Pearl Necklace from Beach Wedding Tips)

I absolutely fell in Loooove with this, it’s is one of my favorite ideas for displaying and presenting pearl jewelry! It’s so elegant and is definitely a one of a kind, keep sake item for that special someone.

Personalized Gift or keep sake box

(Personalized Keep-Sake Box made by MyBoks on Etsy)

My grandmother gave me a treasured little book years ago, which I imagine you’re all familiar with called “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” It’s a real gem and a great piece of insight explains that a person’s name, is to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language.

That’s powerful! It’s no wonder why it’s incredibly popular to personalize everything these days, from jewelry to license plates and what better way to add a customized quality to your gifts than engraving their name right on the box! People love to feel special and this is a perfect way to make people feel warm and fuzzy!

Let your creativity stick! Embellishing gift boxes with Swarovski Flatbacks using the Crystal Katana is a captivating and impressive way to create that instant wow factor. The receiver of this gift is sure to light up immediately and think… if what’s inside is even half as stunning as the box, I love it already!

Swarovski Silk heart bead Wholesale to the Public

The age old saying “it’s better to give than it is to receive” is absolutely true. You and your customer or special someone, are going to feel great no matter how you present your jewelry gift and if you add a little extra sparkling detail or personal touch, it is sure to be memorable.
