Enjoy Summer Before Fall Arrives & It’s Pumpkin Ev-e-ry-thing!

I know it can be tempting to jump the gun on, well, just about every holiday or upcoming season…I know Fall is just around the corner and I’m certainly as excited it as y’all are…cozy sweaters, stunning foliage and pumpkin ev-e-ry-thing…. but wait…let’s pump the brakes for just a sec!

Fall and all of its delicious and natural gorgeousness will be here before we know it, so let’s take the time to enjoy the last bit of summer time fun while we can!

I’m more of a “be here now” – try and enjoy the moment – type of gal…so in an attempt to hold onto every last precious moment of summer and all it’s glory, here are some color inspirations and jewelry designs that we can admire, make and wear before it’s too late!

Special & Sparkly – There’s Just Nothin’ Like a Handmade Gift!

Awhile back, I had a delicious and fun brunch with some lovely lady friends (side note – it’s incredibly uplifting when you experience first hand, women supporting women – Yay!). Anyhoo’s… I was wearing a Swarovski Crystal necklace that I handmade myself, and I hear from across the room…I love Harmony’s necklace, I need one just like that in my life!

I was deeply touched that she liked my jewelry style and to be honest, when you hear something so nice about your creative work, you just never forget it! Right then, I was inspired to make her one! Fast forward a couple of months later, because you know, life gets busy…it’s her Birthday and what a perfect time to surprise her with her very own necklace. Oh what fun it is to be able to make gifts for the people in your life that you know will sincerely appreciate them!

Let the creativity begin…

When you’re making jewelry for someone else, either as a gift, or for resale, I believe the best place to start, is to draw their unique personality into your heart. Then think about who they are, their lifestyle and what they like to wear. Ultimately, all of these aspects come together to reveal what they are drawn to and how they express themselves. This is an excellent foundation to begin creating something distinctive just for them, that you know they will truly love.

This particular friend is a tough woman, with lots of talents, she’s a personal trainer (her muscles don’t lie 🙂 She’s also an esthetician, a wifey, and a mom, so I wanted to make her something that was bold, but not too bold, pretty, but not overly feminine, and something somewhat simple, so that she could wear it with all of the proverbial “hats” that she wears. Here’s what I came up with…

The color pallet that I chose was Grey. I’m sure all of you hip fashionista’s know that grey tones have been wildly popular in the last couple of years. It’s true what they say; Grey is the new black, so I thought this would be a perfect tone to compliment her wardrobe style.

I started with the 6106-22mm Swarovski Crystal Pearshape Pendant in the new Graphite color. This was the going to be the focal point of the necklace, and I incorporated similarly colored crystal beads to compliment this influence.

I didn’t want this crystal necklace to have a pattern, I wanted it to be asymmetrical to give it a little bit of an edgy look.

I added the 5328-4mm Swarovski Crystal Bicone Beads in Graphite. I also used the 5328-3mm, 4mm, 6mm & 8mm Swarovski Crystal Bicone Beads in Black Diamond and Black Diamond AB. I utilized the Swarovski Crystal 5000-4mm & 6mm Round Beads in Black Diamond and Black Diamond AB,  as well as the Swarovski Crystal 5000-5mm & 6mm Round Beads in Crystal Satin.

There are three different grey tones that Swarovski offers in their 5810 Round Crystal Pearls and I chose to use the Grey color. It’s a medium tone that works well in this piece, but I also could have also easily used the Dark Grey.

I integrated one larger bead on one side to give it some depth and distinction, which was the Swarovski Crystal 5650-16mm Cubist Beads in Crystal Silver Shade. I love this style and the light sparkly hues of the Crystal Silver Shade create an extra touch of elegance.

For the final details, I included a few thin silver-toned flower spacers throughout the piece, especially where the crystals met the pearls. This helped to unify the silver toggle clasp with the sprinkles of silver throughout the necklace.

Overall, I loved how it turned out and more importantly, SHE did too!

Her eyes lit up and she put it on right away! Even though we were camping, hiking and playing games in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, she wore it all day!

Instructions on Applying the Swarovski Crystals to your Bikini 

STEP 1: Place Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix style 2078 onto the bikini. Place a transfer film on top of the Swarovski Crystals and iron the transfer film to adhere the crystals onto the bikini. Gently pull the transfer film back. If any of the crystals do not stick, replace transfer film and iron once more.

If you are applying Swarovski Crystals to bathing suits that are not breathable, then it is best to use the Non Hot Fix Flatback Rhinestones and use the E6000 glue. Love in Every Bead ~ A Special Mother’s Day Necklace Design Inspiration!

Here’s one of my most cherished pictures of my wonderful Mom and I

Mother’s Day is that extra special time to reflect on the love and caring nature Mother’s give to their children. I feel incredibly lucky to have a mother who continues to be there for me and love me unconditionally. It’s the absolute greatest gift in the world and I’m always humbled by the power of love.

This beautiful quote by Yogananda expresses the divine quality of a Mother’s love;

“The Mother’s love is not given to us to spoil us with indulgence, but to soften our hearts, that we may in turn soften others with kindness.”

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, I made a special Swarovski Crystal and Pearl necklace for my Mom to honor and celebrate everything she means to me. She is always so sweet in loving everything I make her.

For Easter, I made her a sparkling Swarovski Crystal bracelet with spring tones and she wore it for a week straight. My Dad said she wore it on their nature walks and she would say “Harmony’s coming on the walk with us“. That literally melted my heart! I just thought that was the absolute sweetest! I pour my heart and energy into making jewelry for my friends and family and for my Mom to feel closer to me through the jewelry I make her, is incredibly touching.

Stylish Trend Swarovski Crystal and Pearl Tassel Necklace

I wanted to make a soft and elegant necklace that had a touch of whimsical style. I Looooved how it turned out, I made one for myself too  🙂

The style 5810 wholesale Swarovski Pearls that I used were in the color Platinum. Platinum is a wonderful neutral tone that goes with just about everything and even better, you can pair it with Gold or Silver tones and it looks beautiful with both!

You can even mix the goldish hues of the Swarovski Crystal Golden Shadow, with the light silver tones of Crystal Silver Shade together and it looks dreamy!

My Mom wears gold, so I made her’s with gold accents and mine with silver accents.

I mostly used the 5810-6mm and 8mm sized Swarovski Pearls and the 3mm and 4mm in one area for a tiny graduation up from the Crystal beads.

I especially wanted to incorporate the new Swarovski stylish 5058 Baroque Bead for it’s elegant and timeless shape. I used the 5058-10mm and 14mm Crystal Golden Shadow Baroque Beads as highlights, surrounded by style 5000-6mm and 8mm Round Beads and 5328-4mm and 6mm Bicone Beads all in the matching Crystal Golden Shadow effect.

I added some little gold flower elements to accentuated the Pearls and Crystals, which complimented the gold tones in the Swarovski Crystal Golden Shadow beautifully.

I finished off the necklace with a gold clasp and a tassel that matched the Platinum Pearl color perfectly! I found the tassel at my local Jo-Ann Fabric and craft stores not in the jewelry section, but in the fabric tassel section.

The last Crystal that I added at the bottom, for a nice touch of sparkle, was the 6871-28mm Swarovski Crystal Buddha Pendant in Crystal Silver Shade.
