I’ll be honest, I fell hard for this one! I saw it. I loved it. I want to make it!

Really and truly I LOVE this cute idea! There is certainly a little more love in the air with Valentine’s Day right around the corner and now there can be some extra love…well…on your elbos 🙂

Below are the pictures and step-by-step instructions, but keep in mind, you can also use Swarovski Crystal Flatbacks to embellish these hearts with sparkles. You can either iron them on or use the Bejeweler  Hot Fix Tool using the 2078 Round Flatbacks with Hot Fix, or apply E6000 glue to adhere the 2058 Rhinestones with help from this time-saving, handy-dandy Krystal Katana tool.

Either way, you’ll shine this Valentine’s Day with sparkle & spirit!

Supplies: Alcantara, 10x20cm red, Fusible interlining 10×20 cm, Nylon thread, transparent and 1x Sweater.

Tools: Darning needle, Felt pen, Iron, Scissors, Sewing needle and a Sheet of paper.

DIY Swarovski Crystal Design Idea Sewing Crystals onto Sweater Sparkling Love Patches Instructions

STEP 1: Print and cut out the pattern for the patch and punch holes into the marked spots using a darning needle as shown in the illustrations along with this step.

STEP 2: Place the pattern over the red Alcantara fabric and cut out the heart shape and mark through the holes with the felt pen. Place the prepared red Alcantara heart over the fusible interlining and cut out the shape. Repeat this step for the other heart pattern with a different dot layout.

STEP 3: Place both the heart shaped fusible interlining and Alcantara hearts over the arms of the sweater (one on top of the other) and iron them.

STEP 4: Cut 1m nylon thread and sew the Swarovski Sew-on Stones art. 3188 5mm Crystal Paradise Shine F into the marked places on the Alcantara fabric using three stitches as depicted in the illustrations with this step. Repeat this step to cover all the marked dots on both patterns on each of the arms.

STEP 1: Insert Swarovski Fancy Stones art. 4922 28×24 mm Crystal Scarabaeus Green into the Swarovski Settings art. 4923/S and secure by closing the prongs over the crystals with the help of tweezers. Repeat step with the other two Swarovski Fancy Stones as well.

STEP 2: Cut 1m of green buttonhole silk and sew the Swarovski Settings onto the Swarovski Metal Trimmings art. 55300 Crystal Scarabaeus Green.

STEP 3: Glue the Swarovski Metal Trimmings onto the bangle with a two part adhesive glue. Secure the ends with two clothes pin while it dries.

STEP 1: Place the Swarovski Crystal Graphic Rocks art. 72035 flowers onto the Alcantara fabric. Iron them and cut out as shown in the illustrations. Repeat 2x with others flowers.

STEP 2: Cut 1m nylon thread and sew one of the flowers to form it into a bud shape. Sew Swarovski Crystal Pearl art. 5810 14mm Crystal Iridescent Purple Pearl into this bud.

STEP 3: Cut 50cm long tiger tail, secure one end with a piece of tape. Slide on a crimping tube and art. 5810 8mm Crystal Iridescent Purple Pearl 3x. Stitch a hole into the orchid, by using a darning needle. Thread tiger tail through the flower from back side to top side. Slide on all Swarovski Crystals of material list in order as shown in the illustrations. Slide on another crimping tube and secure the end with a piece of tape.

STEP 4: Sew one Swarovski Bead art. 5000 8mm Purple Velvet and three Swarovski Beads art. 5000 6mm Amethyst into the middle of the flowers to give the flowers a 3-dimensional form.

STEP 5: Thread end of tiger tail through a cord ending and back through the crimping tube and 3 of the Swarovski Crystal Pearls. Crimp the crimping tube and cut off the extra tiger tail. Repeat for the other end of necklace.

STEP 6: Cut two 50cm long pieces of grosgrain ribbon.

STEP 7: Fold the ribbon inwards a little and secure using the nylon thread. Fold the two edges inwards again and sew them together as well. See illustrations for clarification. Repeat with the other ribbon as well. Glue the prepared ribbon ends into the cord endings.

STEP 8: Stitch the bud prepared in the second step onto one of the ribbons.

Step by Step Instructions:

STEP 1: Print and cut out the flower pattern from our illustration in this step.

STEP 2: Cut two 16x14cm long pieces of Alcantara fabric and a fusible interlining of the same size. Layer the interlining in between the Alcantara pieces and iron them.

STEP 3: Affix the flower pattern on top of Alcantara fabric piece using double sided tape and cut out the pattern.

STEP 4: Place Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix art. 2304 14×3.9mm and 10×2.8mm Crystal Silver Night onto the Alcantara pattern and place the transfer film over the Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix to prevent them from moving (see illustration with this step).

STEP 5: Iron on top of the transfer film and slowly remove the film to see if the Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix crystals have adhered onto the fabric.

STEP 6: Cut one 7mm piece of chain, two 10mm pieces and one 12mm piece of chain. Insert Swarovski Bead art. 5045 6mm Crystal Scarabaeus Green onto an eye pin, turn a loop at the end and cut off excess wire. Repeat this process with the two 4mm 5045 beads.

STEP 7: Attach the chains to the beaded eye pins by opening the eye pins and attach the Swarovski Pendants to the chains using 3mm jump rings.

STEP 8: Sew the chains onto the flower pattern as shown in the illustration. Sew the remaining Swarovski Crystals on to the Alcantara fabric pattern.

STEP 9: Cut two 70cm long ribbon pieces and sew them to the back of the Alcantara flower pattern.

STEP 10: Tie a bow with the open ends of the ribbon.

Take an old knitted jumper and turn it into gorgeous mittens. It’s a combination of different DIY techniques with cutting, sewing and stitching. They are the perfect sparkling gift to warm their hands… and their heart!

Step-by-Step Instructions

STEP 1: Trace the outline of your hand on a piece of tracing paper and cut the pattern out; repeat for the other hand or just mirror the first one. Place the pattern over an old jumper or sweater and cut out the shape adding 5mm to the edge of the border. See the illustrations for clarification of this step.

STEP 2: Place the front-sides on top of each other and sew the mitten together. Turn the sewn mitten right side out. Repeat for the other mitten.

STEP 3: Sew all the Swarovski Crystals on the material list onto the mittens as depicted in our illustrations with this step.
