Fall is in the air (at least here in Colorado it is). The sun is slowly softening and we have been waking up to a little nip in the air. The leaves will begin to turn and a full fledged fall will be here before we know it! Here are a couple of fabulous fall colors that are sure to be very popular this year.

DIY Swarovski Crystal “Moustache” T-Shirt Free Design and Instructions!

Hipsters, take note: time to celebrate the big facial hair trend by wearing your mustache on your T-shirt. Most ladies would prefer this sparkling “moustache” to wearing one on your top lip (ha, ha!). This fun, trendy symbol is outlined in Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix in Jet and is just the coolest T-shirt in town!

Swarovski Crystals:

Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix 2078 12 ss (3 mm) Jet

Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix 2078 16 ss (4 mm) Jet

Supplies & Tools:

1 grey T-shirt

An Iron, Sheet of paper, A4 Transfer film, 27x8cm Transfer Sheet and Tweezers

Voilà!

Your sparkling moustache T-shirt is done!

STEP 1: Print out the pattern in our illustration shown with this step.

STEP 2: Place a transfer sheet on top of the pattern and start placing Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix art. 2078 SS12 and SS16 Jet on top of the indicated dots in the pattern using tweezers. Place a transfer film 27x8cm long over the Swarovski Flat Backs Hotfix and pull it back to get all the Swarovski crystals onto it.

STEP 3: Affix the transfer film onto the T-shirt and iron it to stick the Swarovski Flat Backs in place.

STEP 4: Remove the transfer film and your sparkling T-shirt is ready to wear. Enjoy!

I can’t believe how fast this summer is flying by! It’s not over yet, we still have some time left to squeeze out some last minute fun in the sun. As we wind down the summer, it’s a perfect time to start thinking creatively about our new fall fashion and jewelry accessories!

The fall season can be busy with all of the arts and craft shows, family gatherings, apple picking, pie making, leaf peeping excursions…whoa, it becomes a lot (a lot of fun, that is!). To help you start gearing up for all of your fall fun and artistic ventures, I will go through the top 10 colors for fall 2015 and the complimentary Swarovski Crystal Colors.

Right off the bat, my favorites are the Desert Sage, Stormy Weather, Cashmere Rose and Amethyst Orchid. The Bicsay Bay is also beautiful and I’m not normally a big orange fan, but the Cadmium Orange is a soft, almost a peachy orange which I find myself being drawn to more and more. I will break up these colors in stages, highlighting the first three colors now and the others will follow. So let’s get started…

The Dried Herb is a classic olive green shade which people are naturally drawn to during the fall and winter months. It was once thought of as primarily a safari or military color, but is now being elevated into a fashionable fall staple that we can perceive as sophisticated and chic. I have to admit, it’s taken me awhile to hop on this Tassel Trend bandwagon, but I’m on it now baby and boy does it feel good (ha,ha)!

I have really fallen in love with this jewelry trend!! It’s my little terrific tassel love story 😉

I first started seeing them at the Tucson Gem Show this year in February and my sister Lily asked me if I liked the tassel look. I said, “I don’t know yet, I’m on the fence about them.” Since then, I’ve seen them more and more and have fallen deeper and deeper. I don’t know what my hold up was, because let’s face it, they’ve got the whole package.

They’re fun and whimsical but can also be very elegant. You can replace the thread tassels for beaded or chain tassels and you can incorporate a beautiful focal point using unique larger style Crystals for a piece that really catches your eye. Plus they’re stylish across the board in necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Shall I go on? You can make cute little short tassels, or longer ones for a luxurious look. You can integrate Pearls with Crystals for a decadent design and add your own special touches of color or spiritual significance. See what I’m saying, they’ve just got it all!

This is a gorgeous color combination using Swarovski Crystal Bicone Beads in Crystal Rose Gold 2X, Light Rose AB and Powdered Rose Pearls. I love the matching color tassel and Swarovski Crystal Rocks charm, it’s sparkly and sweet!

Using larger Crystal statement stones before the tassel creates a dramatic focal point. The new Swarovski 5515-18mm Emerald Cut Beads would be a beautiful showpiece. Jewelry Designs That Will Enthuse Even the Most Uninspired!

Yesterday I was reading the Swarovski SALT Magazine for a little inspiration (which by the way – is absolutely fabulous!) and I came across an article highlighting the fashion/design school called the Central Saint Martins college of art which is in London. Swarovski sponsors and collaborates with these students by donating gorgeous crystals to draw inspiration from and to be used in designs and contests. I wanted to point this out because I was especially inspired by what the school tries to instill in their students. A few highlighted themes include:

Free thought, independence of spirit, and a rebellious nature. These are just some of the qualities nurtured by this exceptional school whose graduates have gone on to be world leaders in fashion.

As jewelry designers, artists and creative people, I’m sure you’re always striving to design fresh and new ideas to your line. Expanding your horizons, evolving, and relentlessly pursuing your passion. Those are some of the reasons why being creative is so darn fun!

I find that these jewelry designs have somewhat of a chaotic nature. They combine many different elements together such as the Swarovski Mosaic stones, different shaped cup-chains, along with unique styles of beads, pendants and colors. Yet with all of this going on, if you look closely you’ll find that they are balanced out by a repetitive pattern. This duality is balanced very well and is a way in which you can expresses a real sense of creative wildness, while still maintaining its integrity and orderliness which so many people are naturally drawn to.
